Air Max 270 is an iconic design created by Nike, it gained immense recognition due to its style and performance. In 2018 its sales were second only to the Nike Tanjun, but in 2019, the Air Max 270 was crowned the best-selling sneaker on the planet. Nike has inspired this model from two popular Air Max models: the Air Max 180 and the Air Max 93. it is actually the first Air Max model to be designed predominantly for casual use. This is shown through many of the design features on the shoe, such as the one-piece upper that effectively allows the model to act as a slip-on.
The shoe features a breathable mesh on the upper that also provide flexibility, with a neoprene layer underneath, to give a more natural fit. The exceptional quality is the midsole which represents the main part of the sneaker though, as the shoe is named the Air Max 270 because its Air unit is supposed to be visible from 270 degrees. This large Air Unit provides protection to the heel and the ankle, it is designed to deliver comfort and responsiveness. This Air “bubble” protrudes from the back of the sneaker, and is 32 mm tall, marking it the tallest Air unit in Nike Air Max history. So it allows the air volume to boost and enhance the wearer’s performance.
The Air Max 270 isn’t the most hyped sneaker, but it is definitely one of the most beloved. Even if it was known as a lifestyle pair but it has become more suitable for athletic pursuits and daily workouts. It is also available in plenty of different colorways and models that wearers could pair with different outfits.
Nike has partnered with different brands and artists to create eye-catching limited-edition collections. For example, the Air Max 270 Offwhite, Just Don x Air Max 270, and the collaboration with Travis Scoot and with different brands and stores like Atmos, Cactus Plant Flea Market, and ACRONYM. The success of this iconic Air Max 270 led to the creation of the Air Max 720 and the Air Max 2090 with the same large Air Unit feature.
