The Nike Air Max 270 React released on the 3rd of July 2019, and is a much needed tech upgrade to the Air Max 270. The Air Max 270 has a 32 mm Air unit in the heel, but what it adds in looks, it loses in comfort, hence why Nike decided to put their comfy React technology in the heel, in order to give a more cushioned experience without changing the identity of the shoe.

The Nike Air Max 270 React features a more stylish upper than the original 270 model, utilizing a plethora of fabrics layered over each other, not too dissimilar from the Nike React Element 87. The shoe features React cushioning around the front of the midsole, and a large Air bubble under the heel, but the only difference to the original from a looks perspective, is that the React foam is shaped in zigzag patterns that come from the bottom of the sole. Other interesting differences to the original model, are the seperated tongue, and the circular rubber pods on the outsole, instead of the standard rectangular shaped pods that feature on most of the new Air Max models.

As the Air Max 270 is a lifestyle model, it does make sense for it to be comfortable, and as popular as the standard 270 is, the cushioning under foot is nothing special. Therefor, the release of the Air Max 270 React looks to have been welcomed with open arms, as it provides a much comfier experience and for only a small price above the original.

If you are interested in getting a pair for yourself, you can find the Nike Air Max 270 React for $160, and they are available now from most sneaker retailers, as well as from Nike’s online store.
